Alberta Women’s Health Foundation

The Challenge: Having recently launched the AWHF to target the gaps in women’s health research in Alberta, the team wanted to raise their profile to be recognized as a thought leader in health equity.

Our Tools

With an extensive background in thought leadership, research and communication, Victoria supported the team to launch their first thought leadership campaign, Finding the Fractures. She re-wrote the underlying report, adding layers of diligence and credibility, and worked with the team to map out a launch plan to maximize impact with their target audiences: the public and provincial government. The campaign reached millions, with an ongoing social media, traditional media and stakeholder strategies, and continues to drive a women’s health agenda forward with decision-makers in the province.

Victoria more recently worked with another leading researcher, Dr. Liisa Galea to calculate the proportion of funding being distributed to women’s health researchers in Canada - the crux of AWHF’s We Are Not Equal campaign.

Our Impact

“Dr. Gay provided guidance and vision in helping our team bring our first thought leadership paper Finding the Fractures to life. Her expertise in the field of women's health research allowed us to present the right amount of background and context to make a compelling argument. Victoria assisted our organization in building out a comprehensive strategy that will support the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation grow and continue to support women’s health research here in Alberta.

- Teagan Gahler, Vice President, Alberta Women’s Health Foundation and Royal Alexander Hospital Foundation
